Planning considerations for listed buildings
At risk listed buildings
If a grade I or II listed building is deliberately neglected or left vacant long term it is put on the register of Buildings at Risk.
We have legal powers to ask the owner to carry out work to prevent further decay.
In some cases we can carry out work at the owner's cost or compulsorily purchase a building.
