Moving to a smaller home (Rightsizing)
Help with the costs
You may be able to claim help with your costs if you move to a smaller home:
- a one off payment of £750 for downsizing by one bedroom
- plus £250 for each additional bedroom released by the move
This is paid after you have moved. Any money you owe the council will usually be taken off this payment first, depending on your circumstances.
