Extra Charges for sheltered housing
If you live in sheltered housing you will pay an extra charge called a Communal Facilities Charge.
This helps cover access to:
- an Independent Living Officer (this is complusory)
- 24 hour emergency response by a Mobile Warden
- and, where available, communal facilities.
If you get benefits they may be put towards this charge.
If you get any housing benefit or have a limited income, you may be able to get a discount. The Housing Benefit team will decide this.
