Malicious or Vexatious Disclosures

8.1 If you make an allegation that you reasonably believe to be in the public interest, but it is not confirmed by investigation, no action will be taken against you and the protections afforded by the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 will apply.

8.2 You would not be protected from disciplinary action if you raise a concern you know to be false or malicious. Allegations of false or malicious intent will be investigated under the council’s relevant HR policies and/or procedures.
