Visitor parking permits

Apply for a visitor permit

It may take up to the end of the next working day to review and approve your application when you submit an application.

Once the permit application has been approved, an email will be sent to your registered email address confirming that your permit is ready to be used (or paid for if this hasn't been completed).

You must activate your permit before you can use it. Please note, all eligible properties have a maximum limit of 240 vouchers in a 12 month period.

Displaying permits in the vehicle

If you have registered a visitor permit using your online account you will not need to display anything inside your vehicle.  All of the visitor details are shown on our Enforcement Officer's handheld devices.

Paper permits will still need to be displayed clearly in visiting vehicles that haven't been registered using the online account.

Professional carers

Doctors and health visitors may apply for a Doctor/Health Visitor permit. This is purchased by the practice or care company, and allows them to park within all the resident permit zones in Welwyn/Hatfield whilst they carry out community care visits in someone's home. This should be applied for by the company or the carer and can be done via our permit portal.

Trade's persons

Residents should use visitor permits (either the existing paper permits or the online registration) for visiting trade vehicles in a permit zone if short term. For longer term works, please ensure a dispensation is booked so as not to exceed the annual limit of vouchers for the property. Parking exemptions, suspensions and dispensations.
