Knowledge, Skills and Experience
4.1 The knowledge, skills and experience needed for each role for staff is considered and assessed at various stages.
4.2 During recruitment and selection of potential employees, the job role profile defines the essential (and desirable) criteria such as qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills required for the role. A candidate’s ability against the criteria is assessed during the recruitment process in the application form, assessments, tests and interviews.
4.3 On induction, managers discuss any learning and development needs with new starters, and during the probation period. The discussion between managers and staff regarding learning and development needs remains an ongoing process in the one to one supervision meetings and ongoing performance monitoring.
